Once again we enter the Season of Lent as Pilgrims of Hope. Our direction of travel is back to the Father’s House. As Christians, we renew our baptismal promises and the joy of the Risen Lord on Easter Sunday. The Lenten Pilgrimage invites us to have a deep trust in God through Prayer, Fasting and Alms-giving.
These ancient disciplines are further steps at our disposal, fortifying our bodies and strengthening our spirits for this Pilgrimage. We thank God for the grace of Lent, an opportunity for interior renewal, conversion of heart and the joy of repentance.
This year once again the Friends of Park Place have organised Lenten lunches- simple meals consisting of bread, cheese and soup in the homes of people whereby anyone can join in and participate in the meal and make a small contribution. The money will then be sent to people in developing countries where many are struggling to make ends meet. Those who participate in Lenten Lunches have the opportunity to fast, pray and give alms all in one.
So why not give it a try. For more information call Park Place on 01329.833043 or simply email us on: info@parkplacecentre.uk to connect with those hosting the Lenten Lunches:
